I spent the past few days working on various technology projects, Adobe Lifecycle Designer for a form and videos for my course. I am working with Adobe Captivate and Camtasia. I find that creating a storyboard and script is helpful for creating the videos but I am always looking for more interactivity for my students.
Often I will create videos but sometimes it is still difficult for some to follow. Each student learns differently and I believe I need to accommodate my course materials to as many different learning styles as possible. Adobe Captivate brings in the interactivity. I am still working with the software to make just the right videos for my online courses that begin in a few weeks. I think Captivate will add the necessary interactive dimension. All of the how to videos will be primarily on WordPress. Currently BCC will be using WordPress as the ePortfolio software for our students and faculty. WordPress will be hosted off site next year and I think it will provide excellent publishing opportunities for our faculty and students in addition to a social networking element, BuddyPress. I am looking forward to administering it and learning more about PHP to create custom widgets for our students as well as having students create custom themes.
Here are the few videos I created to help students write their biographies and enable their privacy rights in WordPress.

I still need to insert captions for our students and I want to upgrade the videos to an HD version so it looks better. Thanks for watching!
